What happens when we combine QR Codes, WiFi, Bluetooth, and NFC technology? a pretty amazing campaign if you ask us. Blue Bite teamed with Pearl Media to create a unique and engaging way to promote the second season of TNT's top-rated drama series Rizzoli & Isles.

Blue Bite and Pearl Media re-created a crime scene from the series and engage pedestrians to solve the crime by using interactive out-of-home technology. NFC, or near field communication, is a technology standard for very-short-range wireless connectivity that enables quick, secure two-way interactions among electronic devices.
Developing NFC standards allow customers to quickly purchase products and transfer secure information by touching devices, such as the store glass in this case. NFC allows companies to reduce staffing, printing, and point of sale costs. Blue Bite’s mTAG provided the NFC for this particular campaign, and is allowing people to enjoy a more engaging experience thought their mobile devises by simply placing their phones near the store.
The potential of their QR Codes usage is vast. (Note: rVue blogged about that subject, “So QRazy”, which explained how once QR are scanned, your smartphone will upload the mobile web address that was embedded in the code or even a prompt to download an app straight) which is being leveraged for this interactive promotion.
By bringing all of these components together, they engaged more than 4,000 mobiles; translating to significant reach. As stated by mobilemarketingwatch.com; “The content being delivered includes a unique and exclusive mobile game, an opt-in tune-in reminder for the show, a unique and custom wallpaper and a video trailer of the show.”
So grab your phones and try to resolve the mystery!
