Admit it, you get your music from all over. You stream off iTunes, you just got your Spotify account, you uploaded your music to the Amazon Cloud Player, you rocked out to Last.FM on your XBOX, you have a handful of playlists on Grooveshark, and your computer and phone numbers (and if you're fancy, your car) are all streaming Pandora. Well I'm hear to tell you about another site that swallows all of these up.
Enter Turntable.fm - The new social DJing music site.
To start out, you browse which room you want to be in. These chatrooms are labeled by genre, both preset and user-created. So if you can't find a room hosting your favorite Christian Death Metal, you can create it.

Each room holds 5 DJ slots, which any user can hop into and stream music from their custom built playlist. Other DJs can listen, vote, chat on the music being played. You're given an avatar which, over time, you can personalize using the casted votes/points you've earned from DJing. The more points you get, the cooler your avatar can get. So if you see a huge gorilla up on stage, stick around and see what they play.
Cool concept indeed. Such flexibility to discover new music while connecting with people who enjoy the same music, all in one location, hasn't been done before. It makes the other music sites and apps almost hollow, right?
If you've done a few laps around the internet, you'd come to expect you'd be able to post the rooms to your Facebook and Twitter accounts (as well as sending an email). Well here's what REALLY deliver the 1-2 Punch: If you like a current song, you can then link it (or buy it) to your Amazon Cloud Player, iTunes, Last.FM, Spotify and rdio accounts.

This concept of sharing/discovering new music via social DJing with ability of being able to purchase msuic/save for later is awesome. I could have said monumental or innovative, but I didn't. As a music lover who finds today's music outlets good, but not great, at sharing popular music that is straight from the people that enjoy it most, my personal opinion outweighed my professional one.
Digital out-of-home media has become a standard in the advertising industry, and mobile interaction with audiences continues to progress and thrive all around the world. So why stop at having social DJ sites like this be confined to the desk? If you're in a mall, doctors office, or gym and you hear a good song, why not synch it with your phone so its waiting for you back home in your iTunes/Amazon Cloud/Spotify/etc. accounts? However it evolves, this is a great day for social media and music.
