When we set off to design the DOOH industry's leading media planning and buying tool over 4 years ago, we talked to top advertisers who were already buying and planning Digital Out-Of-Home media. We listened closely to our advertising and network partners, responded, and today our system has gained wide adoption and has become a benchmark for our industry.
We're proud to say that one of advertising's leading media minds is now inside our four walls. Jennifer Bolt has joined the rVue team as Chief Strategy Officer and, again, we're listening closely. Most of the features in this new release come from feedback and real-world experience planning and buying millions of dollars of media in our space, so we are excited to give our rVue clients, both agencies and networks alike, these powerful capabilities.
Advanced Scheduling
"What is advanced?" you ask? How about the ability to exclude certain days of the week in planning and the ability to create date ranges where your campaign should be dormant or inactive? Real plans aren't simple 1 network, 1 month campaigns. They are complex, well thought out works of art designed to be the most effective way for an advertiser to get their message out there. Features included are:
- Exclusion selector for days of the week
- Exclusion editor for dates ranges (can be up to 10 ranges)
- Custom flight dates for each network that is part of the campaign during the planning phase
- Custom exclusion settings for each network (in the planning phase)
- Visual calendar showing exclusions and flight dates in downloadable documents
Inventory Holds
Whoa! inventory holds? This sounds complicated..... But its not. Buyers, planners and advertisers often need the ability to reserve a network's advertising space for a certain period of time to gain financial, creative and/or strategic guidance and approval, so rVue has created a simple system which allows for these folks to request that an inventory hold be placed on a network for a given campaign. Flights dates, locations, pricing, and even the date when the hold the expires all stay in control of the network, just the way the rVue works today, but this gives buyers the ability to follow through their necessary process of approvals, while both parties maintain control over the buying process.
So if you're a buyer, and the campaign is at least 2 weeks from today, you can request an inventory hold from networks. If you're a network, and you receive an email from rVue talking about inventory holds, you'll know, you still have all the control, capability and power to maintain your network's sales cycle, while giving buyers what they need. I'm sure Dawn Rahicki, our CMO, will pursuade me to do a webinar on this sometime soon, so I'll show it to you then, but trust me; It's simple; It's powerful; It's rVue.
- Buyers can request an inventory hold from networks during the buying process
- Buyers are given a maximum of 2 weeks of hold time
- Buyers can change their hold request into a bid/offer anytime in the process
- Networks can accept/decline the hold request or counter the request
- Networks control the hold expiration date, the pricing, the locations, the flights dates, etc.
- There is no added cost to buyers or networks for using this feature
Performance
There were hundreds of other minor fixes and improvements during this update as always, but one area of tremendous focus was the speed of our media planning tool. We rewrote large portions to make things a little snappier and perform like there aren't billions of impressions flying around, even if there are.
Thanks to everyone who provided feedback during this release, and as always please don't hestitate to drop us a line at contact@rvue.com if you have ideas or suggestions on how to make rVue better for you.
